Podcast: Endicott College Football Coach Paul McGonagle – Gulls Host University of New England Saturday (Senior Day)

BEVERLY (Podcast) The nationally ranked (18th) Endicott football team (8-1) beat Curry Saturday (48-6) at Hempstead Stadium. Quarterback Clayton Marengi threw five touchdown passes and ran for a sixth TD in the game on Saturday. The Gulls will conclude their regular season this Saturday when the host the University of New England (6-3) (12 Noon), on senior day. In this podcast, head coach Paul McGonagle discusses last week’s win, updates listeners on several individual and team performances as well as previewing this week’s match-up against the University of New England.

BEVERLY — Clayton Marengi (Lynnfield) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance this past Saturday, November 4, in Endicott’s 48-6 victory over Curry.

Marengi accounted for all six touchdowns (five passing, one rushing) in the Gulls’ 42-point victory, keeping them undefeated in conference play. He recorded a season-high 201 passing yards, completing 13 of his 19 passes.

He also had seven rush attempts for a total of 66 yards (long of 29 yards), which included his rushing touchdown.

His five passing touchdowns and six total touchdowns are each season and career-highs.

This is Marengi’s second career CCC Offensive Player of the Week award (10/31/2022).
