Endicott Players Win Awards

BEVERLY — Endicott football student-athletes Markys Bridgewater (Lawrence) and Brian Daly (Franklin Square, N.Y.) have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office today.

Bridgewater was named the CCC Offensive Rookie of the Week, while Daly captured CCC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.

Bridgewater generated 33 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown in Endicott’s 41-14 win over UNE to secure the CCC Championship and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Lawerence native averaged 6.6 yards per rush, his longest rush was 17 yards and produced a 13-yard touchdown to put the Gulls up 34-0 early in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Daly set the tone for the middle of the defensive line with two total tackles (one solo, one assisted), in Saturday’s triumph. He also recorded his first career sack for a loss of five yards and forced a fumble that was recovered by the Blue and Green.

This is the second CCC weekly honor for Bridgewater (10/3), while this is Daly’s first CCC accolade.
