Football Pulls Away From Husson In Second Half, 41-16

BANGOR, Maine – The Endicott football team posted a 41-16 conference victory over Husson University on Saturday evening at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.

Leading 24-16 at the half, Endicott took control of the contest in the third with a 17-point effort highlighted by scores from Nick DiCairano (Trumbull, Conn.), Joe Kalosky (Plymouth, Conn.), and Shea McManaway (Lisbon, Conn.).

Nick DiCairano (Trumbull, Conn.) got the scoring started with a 41-yard field goal at the 12:45 mark to give the Gulls a 27-16 advantage. Senior quarterback Joe Kalosky (Plymouth, Conn.) followed with a two-yard TD dash to go up 34-16 (9:50) before he and McManaway connected for the dagger at 9:40 after Grayson Maddux (Park City, Utah) set up the score with a momentum-changing interception.

Meanwhile, the defense in the second half was virtually perfect as the Gulls pitched a shutout, forced the Eagles to turn the ball over twice on downs, notched one interception, and made Husson punt twice.

The Gulls also saw McManway haul in a 23-yard TD catch in the first (13:12, 7-0) and DiCairano convert a 46-yard field goal in the second (13:31, 10-10), while Anthony Bracamonte (Saco, Maine) and Anthony Whiteley (Pittsfield, Mass.) both found the end zone in the second quarter. Bracamonte had a 50-yard TD catch at 5:42 to make it 17-16 and Whiteley plunged home a one-yard score at 3:29 to cap the scoring in the opening stanza (24-16).
