Football Upends Curry, 61-34

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team posted a decisive 61-34 victory over Curry College on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

Anthony Bracamonte (Saco, Maine), Justin McEwen (Meriden, Conn.), and Anthony Whiteley (Pittsfield, Mass.) headlined the Gulls' efforts as all three student-athletes found pay dirt twice in the matchup.

McEwen's day included four catches for 60 yards (TDs: 25 yards, one yard), while Whiteley rushed the ball 11 times for a team-high 75 yards (TDs: seven yards, 13 yards).

Bracamonte, on the other hand, filled the stat sheet with 174 all-purpose yards, which included six catches for 97 yards (both team-highs | TDs: 70 yards, one yard), five rushing yards, 55 kickoff return yards, and 17 punt return yards.

Endicott took a 35-14 lead into the half behind both of McEwen's (7-0, 10:26, 1st |28-7, 8:25, 2nd) and Whiteley's (14-7, 2:30, 1st | 35-7, 3:54, 2nd) and a six-yard TD catch by Ryan Nelson (Mendon, Mass.).

Meanwhile, the second half featured more of the same dominant play from the Gulls, but no other score in the stanza seemed to deliver the knockout punch better than Bracamonte's 70-yard TD scamper that gave Endicott a 44-14 lead at 13:45 of the third quarter.
