BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott football team defeated Framingham State University, 55-27, in its 2019 season opener on Friday night at a sold-out Hempstead Stadium.
Joe Kalosky (Plymouth, Conn.) shined for the Gulls as the senior quarterback completed 21 of his 28 passes for 374 yards and five touchdowns to lead the offense.
Kalosky's five touchdowns were spread out among four receivers, highlighted by Justin McEwen (Meriden, Conn.) who hauled in five catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Kalosky also connected with Riley Shanley (Simsbury, Conn.) and Shea McManaway (Lisbon, Conn.) for scores, while Anthony Bracamonte (Saco, Maine) made a statement in his collegiate debut with a team-high seven catches for 128 yards.
Overall, as an offense, the Gulls registered 438 yards of total offense on 66 plays (6.6 average gain per play, 374 passing yards, 64 rushing yards) and went 6-for-13 on third-down conversions.
Meanwhile, on the defensive end, Endicott stuffed the stat sheet via four interceptions, three blocks, a forced fumble and recovery, one sack, three pass breakups, and five quarterback hurries.
Freshmen Joseph Pagett (Newtown, Conn.) and Michael LeFebre (Lawrence, Mass.) headlined the defense with a 37-yard and a 17-yard pick-six, respectively, while Allen Gibson (Seymour, Conn.) snagged his fourth career interception for the Gulls.
Other key contributors on defense included Kevin O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) who paced the team in tackles with 10 total (one solo, nine assisted) and Sam Opont (Bridgeport, Conn.) who contributed eight tackles (three solo, five assisted, one sack, 1.5 tackles for a loss) and a forced fumble.

Endicott (1-0) hosts Rochester (N.Y.) on Saturday, September 14 at 12 PM. Framingham State (0-1) travels to Brockport State next Saturday for a 12 PM matchup.
