BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott sophomore tight end Riley Shanley (Simsbury, Conn.) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Currently, in its 20th season, the D3football.com Team of the Week honors the top player nationally at each position from the previous week. Award winners are nominated by their school's respective sports information director and chosen by the D3football.com staff.

Shanley, who also was named the Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) Offensive Player of the Week last Sunday, earned his spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week by catching eight passes for 106 yards, two touchdowns (all career-highs) and a two-point conversion in Endicott's 41-38 win over Western New England on November 3.

Meanwhile, on Endicott's final drive of the game, Shanley played a major factor on the Gulls' game-winning drive as he caught a 33-yard pass over two defenders on 4th-and-14 to keep the drive alive. He then caught the seven-yard game-winning touchdown with 21-seconds remaining in the game. The win ended WNE's 25-game conference win streak.

Historically speaking, Shanley is the first tight end in program history to claim D3football.com Team of the Week honors.

Shanley also is the fifth student-athlete, overall, to earn D3football.com Team of the Week accolades joining current teammate Nick DiCairano (Trumbull, Conn.) on the list, as well as Craig Anderson '17 (Franklin, Mass.), Dylan Rushe '14 (Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Endicott Athletics Hall of Famer Kevin Eagan '12 (West Hartford, Conn.) in the record books.

Both Eagan (2009, Week 10 | 2011, Week 4) and Rushe (2013, Week 2 | 2013, Week 11) are the only student-athletes in program history to claim multiple D3football.com Team of the Week honors.
