BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team has been ranked eighth overall in the sixth Grinold Chapter New England Division III football weekly rankings, as announced by the organization earlier today.

For the first time all season, Western Connecticut State claimed the top spot in the poll over MIT with 12 first place votes and 147 points total. Amherst also moved into second place (3 first place votes) ahead of both Western New England and MIT.

Prior to this week, MIT held claim to the top position in poll for five straight weeks to start the year.

Behind MIT on the poll were Trinity, Springfield, Framingham State, Endicott, Husson, and Tufts, in respective order.

The New England Division III Football Poll is presented by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, which also serves as the title sponsor of the weekly Gold Helmet Awards presented by the New England Football Writers Association throughout the season.
