GAMEDAY CENTRAL: Endicott Clashes With MIT On Saturday (12 PM)

Football gets ready to run on a kickoff.

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team (1-1) is set to host MIT (2-0) this Saturday at 12 PM. Here's a preview of this week's matchup.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott holds a 13-2 advantage in the all-time series against the Engineers. MIT won the last game between the two programs, however, as the Engineers notched a 31-26 win at home on 9/16/2017.
  • This week's matchup features two first-year head coaches in Endicott's Paul McGonagle and MIT's Brian Bubna. Bubna, who currently has the Engineers at 2-0 this season, spent the previous nine years on the MIT coaching staff, most recently as the team's defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.
  • Both teams have had an extra day to prepare for Saturday's matchup as Endicott and MIT both played last Friday night against Bridgewater State University (W, 17-3) and Curry College (W, 16-6), respectively.
  • MIT comes into Saturday's matchup averaging 19.5 points per game also is averaging 317.0 yards per game (140.0 rush | 177.0 pass). Meanwhile, Endicott is averaging an identical 317.0 yards per game (163.5 rush | 153.5 pass) and 15.0 points per game.
  • Endicott will look to improve its 2018 home record to 2-0 on Saturday against MIT. It would be the first time the Gulls have started a season 2-0 at home since 2012 (Castleton, W, 66-14, 9/8/12 | Curry, W, 33-28, 9/29/12).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will host Hobart on Saturday, September 22, as part of Homecoming Weekend, at 12 PM. MIT welcomes Catholic to its campus next Saturday at 12 PM.
