Paul McGonagle Finalizes 2018 Endicott Football Coaching Staff

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott football head coach Paul McGonagle has announced the finishing touches to his coaching staff for the 2018 season. Tad Beuchert joins the staff to work with the kickers and punters this fall, while Jarrod Casey will work primarily with the strong safeties. Along with Beuchert and Casey, Cory Gaff will work with the running backs, Chris Gogolos '12 will serve as an assistant defensive line coach, and Jimmy Nguyen '13, M'14 will coach the wide receivers.

"We are excited to finally have our full staff in place for the 2018 season," said McGonagle. "All five coaches come from winning backgrounds not only on the field, but also off of it. Along with the other members on our staff, I know Tad, Jarrod, Cory, Chris, and Jimmy will push our student-athletes to new heights both on and off the field. I'm excited to develop a championship program with this staff because of their collective character. Lastly, I trust Jimmy and Chris as alums to showcase to our student-athletes what it takes to win in this program and in this region."

MEET THE ENDICOTT COACHING STAFF

TAD BEUCHERT | KICKERS/PUNTERS

Tad Beuchert enters his first year as an assistant coach with the Endicott Football program in 2018 and will work with both the kickers and punters. After his playing career, Beuchert went on to kick professionally for the Colorado Crush in the IFL. He currently is a personal trainer, strength & conditioning coach, and kicking coach out of EPiK Fitness located in Danvers, Mass.

JARROD CASEY | STRONG SAFETIES

Casey joined the Endicott staff after spending one year on the Assumption College football staff. While at Assumption, Casey handled the Defensive Quality Control and assisted with in-game adjustments defensively and for the special team's unit.

CORY GAFF | RUNNING BACKS

Gaff joined the Endicott staff after serving as an assistant coach for his alma mater Plymouth State University for the past three seasons. During his time at Plymouth State, Gaff was responsible for coaching the wide receivers and also coached the 2015 MASCAC Offensive Rookie of the Year. Additionally, he spent one season coaching linebackers at the Pomona-Pitzer program in California.

Gaff is the son of Joe, long-time Massachusetts High School football coach. Joe Gaff currently serves as the Head Coach to the Eagles of Boston College High School and has previously served as a head coach at Chelsea, Matignon, and Malden Catholic High Schools as well as an assistant at Tufts University.

  • Gaff graduated from Plymouth State in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice

  • 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Fall All-Academic Team

  • Spent two seasons as a tight end

CHRIS GOGOLOS '12, M'16 | DEFENSIVE LINE

Chris Gogolos '12, M'16 begins his sixth season as an assistant coach with the Endicott football program in 2017-18. Gogolos will work with the defensive line group.

  • Earned in Masters from Endicott College in Athletic Administration in 2016

  • Appeared in 36 games in his time at Endicott, recording 69 tackles

  • NCAA Tournament appearance (2010)

  • NEFC championship (2010)

  • Won the ECAC North Bowl championship in 2011


JIMMY NGUYEN '13, M'14 | WIDE RECEIVERS

Nguyen returns to his alma mater after spending the past year on the Western Connecticut State University football staff. While coaching at Western Connecticut, he worked with the wide receivers during the offseason. Additionally, he served as the strength and conditioning coach for the football, women's lacrosse, men's basketball, swimming and diving, and field hockey programs.  Nguyen also was a two-time NEFC Academic All-Conference Team honoree during his four-year career with the Gulls where he recorded 42 catches for 469 total yards.

OTHER RESUME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Graduated from Endicott in 2013 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science

  • Attained his Masters in Athletic Administration in 2014

  • Nguyen competed with the United States Skeleton Team from 2014 to 2017, landing a ninth-place finish at the 2016 US Nationals

  • Wide receiver, sophomore and junior varsity offensive lines coach & strength and conditioning coach at Central Catholic High School (Lawrence, Mass.); coached for two State Championships in 2013 and 2015, coached five All-Conference receivers, a league MVP, and a Boston Globe Player of the Year at CCHS

  • Nguyen has attained certifications as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) as well as an USA Weightlifting Level 2 Sports Performance Coach (USAWL2)

  • Appeared in the NCAA Tournament (2010), captured one NEFC Championship in (2010), and won the ECAC North Bowl Championship (2011 & 2012) with Endicott
