Chris Lipscomb, Jesse Simoni Earn NEFC Weekly Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott senior Chris Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) and freshman Jesse Simoni (East Greenbush, N.Y.) have both earned weekly awards from the New England Football Conference (NEFC) for their performances against Hobart on Saturday. Lipscomb was named the conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, while Simoni garnered Defensive Rookie of the Week accolades.

NEFC WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS

Lipscomb averaged 35.4 yards per punt (248 total, long 45) on seven attempts for the Gulls in Endicott's 42-20 loss to Hobart. In addition to his punting duties Lipscomb hauled in two catches for 36 yards including a 21-yard touchdown grab.

Meanwhile, Simoni registered three tackles (two solo, one assisted) on defense and special teams to earn his first career NEFC weekly award.

NEFC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL RECIPIENTS

ALLEN GIBSON, SOPHOMORE, FREE SAFETY, SEYMOUR, CONN.

Allen Gibson finished second on the team in tackles from the free safety position with nine (three solo, six assisted), and also intercepted a pass at his own 2-yard line with the score in favor of Hobart at 7-6 with less than a half a minute to play in the first half.

LAVANTE WIGGINS, JUNIOR, FULLBACK, PITTSFIELD, MASS.      

Lavante Wiggins registered his second career 100-yard rushing game (18 carries, 100 yards, long 30, 5.6 average), and also punched in a one-yard TD run versus Hobart.
