BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team (0-1) will host Hobart College (1-0) this Saturday at Hempstead Stadium in a non-league game at 12 p.m. Here's a preview of this weekend's matchup.

NEED TO KNOW: Hobart, who is receiving 34 votes in the most recent D3football.com national poll, is coming off of a tight 41-35 victory over Brockport in its season opener last weekend. Junior quarterback Shane Sweeney (Phelps, N.Y.) led the charge for the Statesmen going 31-for-45 passing for 420 yards and four touchdowns. For that performance, Sweeney was named the Liberty League Football Offensive Performer of the Week.

ENDICOTT (STATS): Despite seeing their valiant comeback effort fall just short against Framingham State University last weekend, 32-21, the Gulls will look to rebound against a Hobart program this Saturday that they nearly beat last season (28-17 loss on the road) when the Statesmen were ranked No. 15 in the country at the time. Endicott comes into Saturday's matchup having compiled 349 yards of total offense versus the Rams last week, which marked a 129 improvement against Framingham State in 2015. In addition to their offensive comparison from a year ago, the Gulls currently rank No. 31 in the country in red zone defense headed into Saturday.

HOBART (STATS): The Statesmen will look to push their record to 2-0 overall for the seventh straight season with a win versus Endicott on Saturday. The last time Hobart opened up its first two games of a season without a 2-0 record came back in 2009. Although early in the year, Hobart features the No. 11 ranked passing offense in the country to go along with the No. 35 scoring offense in all of NCAA Division III.
