2016 Football Video Season Preview
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team begins its 2016 season this Saturday on the road against Framingham State University at 12 p.m. Here's a preview of the upcoming season.
RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): Led by a senior class of 12, the Gulls return a bevy of leadership within that group including co-captains Craig Anderson (Franklin, Mass.) and Chris Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.). Alongside Anderson and Lipscomb, who both will look to guide the defensive line and wide receiver corps, respectively, this season, offensive linemen Chris Bertoni (Duxbury, Mass.) and Tanner Robinson (York, Maine), defensive lineman John Fortes (North Reading, Mass.), linebackers John Pendergast (Medfield, Mass.) and Connor McLaughlin (Canton, Mass.), wide receivers Jake Pelletier (Trumbull, Conn.), Thomas Connors (Amesbury, Mass.), Conor Crotty (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Greg Cummings (South Easton, Mass.), and safety Rasheed Adigun (Salem, N.H.) will all be tasked with making major contributions towards the program, on and off the field, in their final seasons on the squad.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): After their season opener versus Framingham State this Saturday, the Gulls will host Hobart (9/10), St. Lawrence (9/17), and Nichols (9/24, homecoming game) over the next three weeks with all games starting at 12 p.m. Following its three-game homestand, Endicott will travel to MIT on October 1 before a bye week on October 8 splits up the 2016 season completely in half, leaving five games on the docket to close out the remainder of October and November. Out of those five games, two will be played at home including Senior Day against Salve Regina on October 29 at 12 p.m.
PRESEASON PLAUDITS (POLL): Endicott (50 points, one first place vote) was selected to finish third in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) preseason poll behind reigning NEFC champion Western New England University (59 points, 5 first place votes), and No. 2 ranked Salve Regina University (56 votes, 2 first place votes).
