
2012 NEFC Preseason Poll Release
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – In the final year of the New England Football Conference (NEFC) as it is currently organized, the Endicott football team received two votes towards a first place ranking in the Boyd Division but settled for a second place standing behind 2011 NEFC Champions Western New England by a slim margin.
The preseason poll, as voted upon by the league's head coaches and announced this morning by NEFC Publicity Director Roger Crosley, also revealed a large amount of parity in the conference as no single team was predicted to be the clear cut winner this season. Western New England, the 2011 NEFC Championship runners up Framingham State, Bridgewater State all totaled 58 points with Endicott and Salve Regina trailing with 54 points each.
Western New England, Salve Regina, and Framingham State all received four votes from conference coaches towards predicting the league champion. Bridgewater State earned three and Worcester State picked up one.
The Gulls are six days away from the start of preseason and 23 days from week one of the regular season, a road game against Framingham State on September 1st at 12:00 pm at Maple Street Field. Endicott plays their home opener at Endicott Stadium one week later on September 8th against Eastern College Football Conference (ECFC) foe Castleton State at noon.
Endicott is coming off a record-breaking 10-win season with an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) North Bowl Championship.
