JB Wells named Coach of the Year by New England Football Writers
Boston, Mass. – The New England Football Writers Association honored Endicott head coach JB Wells as this year’s Division II/III Coach of the Year following the team’s first New England Football Conference Championship and automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

2010 marks the first time that Wells has been named Coach of the Year by the New England Football Writers Association.

The Gulls football program under Wells, in just its eighth year of existence, set program records in several categories including wins (9), scoring (29.4 ppg), yardage (321.8 ypg), touchdowns (44), sacks (29.0), field goals made (14), and several other statistical categories.

Since the 2003 season, the Blue and Green have compiled a 43-37 record (53.8 win percentage) under Wells. Prior to their 9-3 championship season in 2010, the Gulls best record to date had been 7-3 back in 2007.

Along with Wells, defensive lineman and captain Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) was honored as a Division II/III All-Star by the New England Football Writers Association. Eagan is one of several junior starters returning in 2011 that anticipate another run at the conference crown and another berth into the NCAA Tournament.
