Eagan and Konopka earn NEFC Honor Roll status for second time
Beverly, Mass. - Following a 56-14 blowout victory over Fitchburg State this past weekend, Endicott juniors Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) and Phil Konopka (Shelton, Conn.) were named to the New England Football Honor Roll for their respective efforts on the defensive and offensive side of the ball.  It was the second time this season that both Eagan and Konopka were awarded NEFC Honor Roll.

Eagan, a defensive lineman for the Gulls, forced a fumble that resulted in a seven-yard scamper by teammate Nick Scozzaro (Wellington, Fla.) into the end zone to put Endicott up 14-0 in the first quarter.  Eagan totaled four tackles, three solo and one assisted, including three tackles for a loss.  His two sacks were part of six total quarterback takedowns as a team.  Eagan also broke up a passing play.

Konopka, the team's quarterback, had a successful game under center for the Blue and Green.  Konopka completed 13-of-26 pass attempts for 224 yards and two touchdowns, a seven yard strike to Taylor Allen (Westboro, Mass.) in the second quarter and a 54 yard connection with Neil Powers (Westford, Mass.) in the third quarter.

Endicott improved to 2-1 with the win and move on to play Salve Regina on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00 pm in Newport, R.I.
