Fall Teams in the Playoffs

On Saturday, three EC athletic teams began their pursuit of a Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. Both field hockey and women's soccer opened tournament play at home while men's soccer traveled to Roger Williams University. Playoffs for the women's volleyball team begin Tuesday.

The fourth seeded field hockey team defeated fifth seeded Regis College, 2-1. The team will face top seeded Salve Regina University on the road Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the CCC semifinals.

The top seeded women's soccer team, enjoying home field advantage throughout the tournament began their quest of a second straight CCC title with a first round win over No. 8 New England College, 3-0. The Gulls face No. 5 Nichols College tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

The sixth seeded men's soccer team faced No. 3 Roger Williams University in the opening round of the CCC tournament. RWU came out victorious, ending the Gulls' season with an overall record of 9-9-1.

The women's volleyball team, having one of their best seasons ever, powered through the CCC at 9-0, earning the No. 1 seed and home court advantage in the tournament. The Gulls take their 23-5 overall record up against No. 8 Regis College on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the MacDonald Gymnasium, located in the Post Center.

The football team played their final home game of the season defeating Nichols College, 17-3. With the second best record in the Boyd Division, 4-1, the Gulls will finish their season on Saturday, facing MIT at 12:00 in Cambridge.
