September 27, 2004 - Freshman quarterback Andy Roy fired a 90-yard touchdown pass to freshman wide receiver Dan Marshall with 1:10 remaining as Endicott rallied for a stunning 14-10 victory over Western New England in the New England Football Conference Boyd Division opener for both teams.

The Gulls improved their record to 2-1 in their first varsity season of NCAA Division III football.

WNEC took the lead in the first quarter on a field goal by Loren Estabrook. The score remained 3-0 WNEC at halftime, but Endicott took over the momentum on Orlando Johnson's 34 yard punt return to the WNEC 34. Capitalizing on the return, freshman wide receiver Scott Peters grabbed a 34-yard scoring pass from freshman Jeff Trinque with 9:09 left in the third period.

WNEC (0-3) took a 10-7 lead when freshman quarterback Jim Kantany scored his first collegiate touchdown on a 1-yard run with 9:01 left in the fourth quarter.

Endicott drove to the Golden Bears' 16 before freshman linebacker Chance Seymour intercepted a Roy pass and returned it to the WNEC 37 with 3:41 remaining. Forced to punt, WNEC senior Mike Lynch drilled a 46-yard punt that was downed on the Endicott 10.

With no timeouts left, Roy (6-for-16, 133 yards, two interceptions) hit Dan Marshall who sprinted to the end zone for the winning score.

Western New England out gained Endicott by a slim margin of 263 yds to 251 yds. Junior running back Mike Laroche ran for a game high 77 yards on 27 carries. Kantany, meanwhile, finished 7-for-18 passing for 80 yards with one interception.

Freshman running back Tim Boyd led the Gulls with 62 yards on 16 carries and Senior captain Scott Bartush had 7 carries for 36 yards. Marshall finished with four receptions for 118 yards and 1 TD while freshman Scott Peters reeled in 3 catches for 49 yds and 1 TD.
