Endicott Crew Hosts Their First Regatta of the Spring Season

ESSEX, Mass. - The Endicott crew program hosted its first regatta of the spring season this past Saturday at Camp Menorah in Essex, Mass. The Gulls faced off against worthy opponents from Mass. Maritime, Bryant University, Gordon College, and Merrimack College in both the Women and Men's Varsity 4's. Multiple heats went head-to-head throughout the day.

During the first heat for the women, seniors Brenna Shanahan (Shelton, Conn.), Michelle Lorenti (Andover, Mass.), Sarah Burola (Albany, N.Y.), and Rachele Stein (Washington, D.C.) placed first overall with a finishing time of 4:15:3. The women's second heat for Endicott wrapped up with a first place time of 4:18:0 as well.

As for the men's varsity 4's, lead by senior Ben Zorfas (Waban, Mass.) alongside juniors Jesse Gottesdiener (Newton Center, Mass.), Addison Culupa (Jericho, V.T.), and James Donovan (Newburyport, Mass.), the Gulls came in first place with an overall time of 3:56:0.  Their second heat also produced a first place finish with a time of 3:49:0.

The Gulls look forward to competing in the River Hawk Challenge Regatta at UMass Lowell on Saturday, April 21.
