Gulls Finish Home Stretch Strong with Senior Night Victory

HAMILTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's ice hockey team played their final game at the Pingree School on Thursday evening as they celebrated senior night. Three different Gulls tallied goals as the Blue and Green soared to a 3-2 victory over Providence. Endicott improves to 8-7-3 as they look ahead to their final two games of the season on the road.

Endicott takes the ice next on Thursday, February 5th as they travel to Northeastern for a 6:30 p.m. matchup. Two days later they will stay in Boston as they compete with Boston University at 7:00 p.m.

The night started off as head coach R.J. Tolan and the squad took a moment to honor their five seniors saying, "This senior class is a special one, they will be the last class before the men's ice hockey program turns to an NCAA status next fall. This group of five men have all had a tremendous impact on the success of the men's ice hockey program. Without their years of dedication and love for the game our program would not have the reputation and expectations it has today. We wish you all the best of luck and you will always be a member of the men's ice hockey family."

We wish all five seniors: Jake Rand (Winthrop, Mass.), Ryan Hansen (West Haven, Conn.), Alex Dodds (Grantham, N.H.), Kevin Brennan (Scituate, Mass.) and Dana Boudreau (Plymouth, Mass.), the best of luck in their future endeavors and thank them for their continued commitment to our program.

After a scoreless first period, Endicott came out firing in the second. Sophomore Cameron Randles (Canyon Country, Calif.) started the scoring for the Blue and Green after moving to goal with Dodds and freshman Alex Bonito (Buffalo, N.Y.) for the 1-0 lead on a power-play opportunity.

Five minutes later Dodds gave the Gulls a 2-0 lead with the help of Bonito and sophomore Tyler Peabody (Mendon, Mass.). The two goal lead would not last for long as the Friars got back within one as Matthew Montesano (Bridgewater, Mass.) got the puck past sophomore goaltender Nick Russo (Waltham, Mass.). Three minutes later the Friars went back at it and tied the game up at two apiece with a goal from Niall Cahill (Troy, N.Y.) to end the second period.

With the third period coming to a close junior Brendan Moore (Springfield, Mass.) notched the game winner with help from Randles and Rand with 3:17 left on the clock to claim the 3-2 victory on senior night.
