Cheerleading Places Seventh In The Nation At NCA Collegiate Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Endicott cheerleading program placed seventh overall in the DIII All-Girl Division at the 2019 NCA Collegiate Championship this past weekend.

Endicott scored an 86.74 in their final round of competition to rank ahead of Fitchburg State, Oswego, SUNY New Paltz, RIT, and Ithaca.

"We had two strong performances in both prelims and finals this year, but, unfortunately, neither of them was a perfect routine. However, the team was able to push themselves to their limits and perform the best they have all season," said Endicott cheerleading head coach Jennifer Riley. "We have a very competitive division of 12 and we were able to come out strong in 7th, with a score of 86.74, just shy of 6th place."

Riley continued.

"We had a few issues on finals day, but this was the strongest, most fun performance the team had this season and I could not be more proud! They had to overcome injuries and last minute changes to their routine and were able to stay strong and composed throughout it all truly pushing themselves to be their best. It was great to see the team pull together and support not only each other but also other teams in our divisions as well as showing true sportsmanship. The dedication and talent of this team are second to none and I am honored to have been able to coach them this year. We are already planning for next year to push us even further in our division and climb closer to the title."
