BEVERLY, Mass. — Former Endicott baseball two-time All-American left-handed pitcher Jordan Gottesman '24 (Acton, Mass.) was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 2025 MLB Draft (6th round, 176th pick) on Monday afternoon.
Gottesman was the first player with NCAA Division III experience taken off the board.
"I couldn't be more proud of or excited for Jordan. His journey has been nothing short of inspiring," said Endicott baseball head coach Bryan Haley. "He's earned an opportunity that few ever reach, and I know he's ready. He's ready to compete, ready to succeed, and ready to get out professional hitters. This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to see where his path leads."
Gottesman skyrocketed up MLB draft boards this summer following his standout postgraduate season at Northeastern University (NCAA Division I).
The Huskies went 49-11 overall and 25-2 in conference play, both program records. Northeastern won both the 2025 CAA Regular Season and Tournament titles, tied the CAA conference all-time wins mark, and boasted an NCAA-best 27-game winning streak heading into the NCAA Tournament, the longest winning streak in Division I since the 2021 season.
The 6-1, 185-pound ace played a pivotal role in the historic run, producing a 9-2 record, rotation-best 2.27 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, 5.71 K/BB ratio (97 K | 17 BB), and .185 BAA in 83.1 innings (16 APP-12 GS | 2 CG | 2 SHO).
His best performance of the season came when it mattered most, in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Semifinals against UNCW on May 23.
Gottesman fanned a D1 career-high 12 batters to lead Northeastern to the CAA Championship game out of the winner's bracket for the first time in program history.
For his efforts this spring, Gottesman earned ABCA/Rawlings All-America Second Team honors.
The hard-throwing lefty is the third Endicott Gull ever to have his name called at the MLB Draft, joining Hall of Famers Matt Bishop '07 (Woburn, Mass.) and Tad Gold '14 (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) on the exclusive list.
Bishop was drafted in the 37th round (1,124th pick) of the 2005 MLB Draft, while Gold was chosen in the 35th round (1,051st pick) of the 2014 MLB Draft.
Gottesman's four-year career (2021-24) at The Nest featured a 14-1 record, 3.37 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 4.90 K/BB ratio (152 K | 17 BB | 10.66 K/9), and .223 BAA in 128.1 innings pitched (27 APP-20 GS | 1 CG).
He capped his senior season with ABCA and D3baseball.com All-America accolades, ABCA and D3baseball.com All-Region II Pitcher of the Year honors, the CCC Pitcher of the Year award, ABCA and D3baseball.com All-Region First Team selections, and an All-CCC First Team nod.
The Gulls went 147-29 overall (.835) and 51-7 (.897) in conference play during his playing career, capturing three conference championships and making two NCAA Division III College World Series appearances along the way.
Gottesman profiles a low-to-mid 90s four-seam fastball (touches 95), slider, changeup, curveball, and cutter (according to multiple sources).
San Francisco's minor league system features teams in Sacramento (AAA), Richmond (AA), Eugene (Adv A), San Jose (A), and Arizona (Rookie).
Gottesman graduated from Endicott in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and from Northeastern in 2025 with a Master of Sport Leadership.
