Baseball Falls To Saint Joseph's (Me.), 2-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott baseball team fell to Saint Joseph's, 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at North Field. 

Matt Bergeron (Salem, N.H.) (1-1) earned the win for the Monks pitching a complete game six-hit shutout, striking out five.

Cooper Anibal (Bedford, N.H.) (0-2) via 4 2/3, five hits, two earned runs, and two strikeouts. 

Saint Joseph's received one run in the top of the first after Jonathan Dube (Rochester, N.H.) plated Hunter Richardson (North Monmouth, Maine) with a double to right-center. The Monks got another run in the fifth through a Justin Juliano (Lynnfield, Mass.) single which scored Zach Miles (Concord, N.H.)

Meanwhile, the Gulls threatened in the bottom of the third, and bottom of the fifth but could not get on the board. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • This was the 28th all-time meeting between the two sides. 
  • Matt Bald (De Pere, Wisc.) was 2-4 tonight from the plate. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (4-5) will face Southern Maine in Lexington South Carolina on Sunday, March 15 at 7 PM. Saint Joseph's (4-7) will face off against Hamilton for a double-header on Sunday, March 15 in Winter Haven Florida at 9 AM, and 11:30 AM.
