CCC TOURNAMENT: Gulls Continue Postseason Play At Roger Williams On Friday (2PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. — The third-seeded Endicott baseball team will travel to second-seeded Roger Williams on Friday, May 3 for a 2 PM contest in the next round of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament play.

THE MATCHUP

Roger Williams swept the regular season series against Endicott by scores of 3-2 and 8-1. However, the Gulls hold a 33-19 advantage over the Hawks in the all-time series.

HOW THEY GOT HERE

Endicott earned the No. 3 seed behind a 9-5 conference record and also defeated sixth-seeded Gordon on day one of the tournament, 14-1. Conference wins for the Gulls included sweeps of Nichols (11-8, 8-0), Wentworth (14-4, 8-3), and Salve Regina (6-0, 10-2), and a split with Curry (5-0).

Meanwhile, Roger Williams went 9-4-1 to earn the No. 2 seed and an automatic bye into the second day of the tournament.

SCOUTING ENDICOTT

In conference-only games this season, the Gulls rank well in the following categories: batting average (4th, .295), on-base percentage (2nd, .397), slugging percentage (4th, .388), runs scored (2nd, 93), hits (4th, 231), doubles (4th, 23), triples (t-3rd, 5), home runs (8th, 3), RBI (2nd, 84), walks (2nd, 55), and stolen bases (t-1st, 31).

Pitching-wise, Endicott is second in earned run average (3.41), tied fifth in walks (48), and second in strikeouts (107) and strikeouts per nine innings (8.30).

SCOUTING ROGER WILLIAMS

Roger Williams also boasts a strong offense as the Hawks are well-ranked in the following categories: batting average (3rd, .306), on-base percentage (3rd, .386), slugging percentage (2nd, .456), runs scored (3rd, 91), hits (2nd, 141), doubles (6th, 21), triples (2nd, 6th), home runs (2nd, 12), RBI (4th, 81), walks (3rd, 48), and stolen bases (4th, 22). 

The Hawks pitching ranks include: earned run average (3rd, 4.14), walks (8th, 65), strikeouts (3rd, 99), and strikeouts per nine innings (3rd, 7.73).

Both teams will return to action on Saturday, May 4. Their opponents, times of games, and locations will be determined by the outcomes of all the other tournament games slated for today.
