Bryant, Gould, & Kochiss Claim All-Region Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott baseball student-athletes Will Bryant (Cumberland, Maine), Kevin Gould (Rollinsford, N.H.), and Mike Kochiss (Fairfield, Conn.) all earned postseason accolades yesterday following the announcements of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings, D3baseball.com, and New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Region Teams.

Bryant was named to the D3baseball.com All-New England Second Team, while Gould was selected to both the D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings Third Teams, respectively. Kochiss rounded out the group with ABCA/Rawlings and NEIBA Third Team selections.

WILL BRYANT | SOPHOMORE | RHP | CUMBERLAND, MAINE

Bryant paced the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in saves this season with seven total over 17 appearances out of the pen. Bryant also logged 21 1/3 innings, compiled 18 strikeouts (7.59 per game), registered a .182 batting average against and sported a 1.27 earned run average (ERA). Additionally, among all NCAA Division III closers, Bryant ranked No. 21 in the country with his seven saves.

KEVIN GOULD | SOPHOMORE | RHP | ROLLINSFORD, N.H.

The CCC Pitcher of the Year, Gould's impressive second-year campaign included a 6-1 record, two complete games, one shutout, 53 innings pitched, 45 strikeouts and only seven walks, 7.64 strikeouts per game, and a 2.38 ERA. Gould finished 10th in the conference in strikeouts, seventh in strikeouts per game (7.64), and sixth in ERA. Nationally, Gould is No. 21 in walks plus hits per innings pitched (WHIP) at 0.96, No. 34 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.43), No. 46 in walks allowed per nine innings (1.19), and No. 99 in ERA.

MIKE KOCHISS | SENIOR | SS/3B | FAIRFIELD, CONN.

Kochiss produced a slash line of .399/.511/.615 (.avg/.obp/.slg) alongside 42 runs scored, 57 hits, 15 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 32 RBI, 88 total bases, 34 walks, and 13 stolen bases in 44 games played on the season. Kochiss led the CCC in runs, doubles, total bases, walks, batting average, and slugging percentage. He also finished second in home runs, and on-base percentage in the conference. Meanwhile, nationally, Kochiss is No. 23 in walks, No. 28 in on-base percentage, and No. 99 in batting average.

In addition to those numbers, Kochiss claimed CCC Player of the Year honors for the second straight season to become the first student-athlete in conference history to earn back-to-back CCC Player of the Year accolades since data on the award has been available (1995-2017).

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 25-19 record overall, an 11-5 conference mark, and advanced to the CCC Championship for the second year in a row. Since 2010, the Gulls also have registered 25 wins or more, a span of eight straight seasons.
