CCC TOURNAMENT: No. 2 Endicott Hosts No. 3 Western New England On Saturday

BEVERLY, Mass. – The second-seeded Endicott baseball team will host third-seeded Western New England in game four of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament at North Field this Saturday, May 6 at 1 PM. 

Saturday's losing team will then take on No. 6 Gordon College at North Field at approximately 4 PM. Meanwhile, the winner between Endicott and Western New England will advance into Sunday's portion of the bracket with that game being played at the highest remaining seed in the tournament left on Endicott's side of the bracket. On Saturday, Endicott will play its first game of the CCC Tournament, while Western New England enters action with a 1-0 record in the current postseason format. Gordon (0-1) will need to win out the rest of the way as the CCC Tournament is a double-elimination format.

ALL-TIME SERIES/MATCHUP 

Western New England holds a 21-19 advantage in the all-time series versus Endicott. The Gulls and Golden Bears split their regular season doubleheader this year as Endicott took game one 5-2 but fell in the nightcap, 11-1. 

In the last 10 meetings, Endicott is 7-3 versus Western New England (dating back to 5/4/14). 

SCOUTING ENDICOTT (23-16): The Gulls enter Saturday's playoff matchup winners with an 8-2 record in their last 10 games played. Endicott's conference ranks include: batting average (4th, .287), on-base percentage (4th, .366), slugging percentage (4th, .380), stolen bases (2nd, 74), earned run average (4th, 4.43), strikeouts (2nd, 287). 

SCOUTING WESTERN NEW ENGLAND (22-16): The Golden Bears defeated Gordon, 11-2, in game two of the NCAA Tournament to earn a spot in Saturday's contest versus Endicott. Western New England enters this weekend 5-5 in its last 10 games. The Golden Bears conference ranks include: batting average (3rd, .288), on-base percentage (2nd, .400), slugging percentage (2nd, .392), stolen bases (3rd, 54), earned run average (2nd, 3.92), strikeouts (4th, 241). 

SCOUTING GORDON (11-21): The Fighting Scots showed resiliency down the stretch to earn a spot in the CCC Tournament by splitting league doubleheaders with Nichols and Roger Williams, and later sweeping Eastern Nazarene to end the regular season. Gordon's conference ranks include: batting average (7th, .265), on-base percentage (5th, .356), slugging percentage (7th, .351), stolen bases (8th, 36), earned run average (9th, 6.34), strikeouts (8th, 155).
