BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott baseball team swept Roger Williams University in a league doubleheader by scores of 5-4 and 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at Paolino Field.
GAME ONE: Endicott 5, Roger Williams 4
Tied 3-3 in the top of the sixth, Endicott pushed across two runs in the frame to come away with the game one victory.
Anthony Serina (Portsmouth, R.I.) broke open the 3-3 tie in the sixth with an RBI single up the middle. Michael Casciano (Somers, Conn.) followed with a sacrifice fly to left field for a two-run cushion on the scoreboard that proved to be critical only a half inning later.
In the bottom of the sixth, Danny Roth (West Hartford, Conn.) cut the Hawks' deficit in half with a two-out double to left center, but Endicott reliever Nick Quattro (Canton, Conn.) squandered any chance Roger Williams had of tying the game with a groundout to first base for the final out of the inning.
Will Bryant (Cumberland, Maine) made quick work of the Hawks in the seventh with 1-2-3 inning (two fly outs, pop out) for his fifth save of the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Quattro picked up the win (5-3) on two innings pitched, one run (earned), one walk, and three strikeouts. Quattro is currently second in the conference in wins.
- Kevin Gould (Rollinsford, N.H.) was dealt the no-decision in today's contest (4 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K).
- Corbin Hyde (Lewiston, Maine) went 3-for-4 with two RBI, which both came on his single in the top of the first inning.
FOR THE FOES
- Michael Farrell (Bellingham, Mass.) took the loss in relief via five innings pitched, five hits, two runs (both earned), two free passes, and three punchouts. Farrell was forced to spell the Hawks' starter only six batters into the game.
- Roth finished game one 2-for-2 at the plate with one run scored and three RBI.
GAME TWO: Endicott 6, Roger Williams 2
Joseph Oriola (Sandwich, Mass.) claimed the victory in relief on 2 1/3 innings pitched, one hit, zero runs, no walks, and a team-high six strikeouts. Bryant also notched his conference-leading sixth save of the season via 1 1/3 innings, one hit, and one strikeout.
Jimmy Hamilton (Schenectady, N.Y.) tossed seven innings in the loss alongside seven hits, six runs (two earned), one free pass, and a game-high eight strikeouts.
Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, Endicott rallied for two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to notch the come-from-behind victory.
Casciano and Hyde highlighted the scoring in the sixth with an RBI double and an RBI single, respectively, while Brad Rebello (Bellingham, Mass.) punctuated the Gulls' eventual win with a two-run single in the seventh after one run had already scored in the frame.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With the sweep, Endicott improved to 31-17 in the all-time series against Roger Williams.
- The Gulls have also won the last four meetings between the programs.
- Endicott has produced 20 or more wins in nine straight seasons (20-15 in 2017).
FOR THE FOES
- Sean Gaffney (Simsbury, Conn.) tied up the contest with a run-producing single to center in the second, while Anthony Dominguez (Chester, N.J.) gave the Hawks a 2-1 advantage in the fourth with an RBI double to center.
- Shane Nowak (Litchfield, N.H.) had the only multi-hit game for either team in game two (2-for-2, one run).

Endicott (20-15, 11-5 CCC) will celebrate Senior Day tomorrow at home in a doubleheader against Suffolk University at 12/2:30 PM.
