Endicott, Salve Regina Tie For First In 2017 CCC Baseball Preseason Coaches’ Poll

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott and Salve Regina University have split the coaches' vote to be the Commonwealth Coast Conference's (CCC) preseason favorite for the 2017 baseball season, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Salve Regina compiled 74 points behind five first place votes, while Endicott also accumulated 74 points despite receiving just two first place votes. Western New England University was picked third (62 points, two first place votes), Nichols followed in fourth (57), and Curry rounded out the top-5 with 43 votes.

Roger Williams ranked sixth (34), Gordon was positioned seventh (33), Wentworth checked in as the No. 8 team on the poll (18), and Eastern Nazarene finished last with 10 points.

The Gulls will open up their 2017 season against Salem State University at home on Saturday, March 4 at 1 PM. The Vikings went 25-20-1 overall last season, won its conference championship, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

After Endicott plays Salem State on March 4, the Blue and Green will head to Florida for games against Ramapo (3/12), Eastern Connecticut State (3/13), Rutgers-Camden (3/14), Illinois Wesleyan (3/16), and UMass Dartmouth (3/17). The Gulls' contests against Ramapo and UMass Dartmouth will both be doubleheaders.
