Kochiss Earns ECAC Division III All-New England Honors

ECAC DIVISION III ALL-NEW ENGLAND TEAM

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott junior third baseman Mike Kochiss (Fairfield, Conn.) has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III All-New England first team, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Kochiss, who was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year earlier this spring, hit .410/451/.590/1.041 (.avg/.obp/.slg/.ops) in 44 starts at third base to go along with 29 runs scored, 15 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 44 RBI, 12 walks, and four stolen bases.

Kochiss also compiled 19 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI contests, both team-highs, throughout his junior campaign and put together a 16-game hitting streak from April 8-24 (30 H, 11 R, 19 RBI, .566 AVG).

In addition to those numbers, Kochiss reached base in 18 consecutive games – three behind Matthew Paola's (Middlebury, Conn.) team-leading 21-straight mark – and batted .458 with runners in scoring position.

Kochiss has now earned four All-Region accolades this season after picking up All-New England first team honors from the American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA)/Rawlings, D3baseball.com, and the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA).

As a team in 2016, Endicott posted a 29-15 record in 2016, and surpassed the 500-win plateau as a program (515-372, .581).
