2015 Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Preseason Poll
TUCSON, Ariz. – Collegiate Baseball has released their 2015 NCAA Division III Preseason Poll and the Endicott baseball team has been ranked 27th among 384 institutions that sponsor the sport. The Gulls are coming off of back-to-back Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championships and appearances in the NCAA New England Regional Final and have accumulated a 158-79 (.667) record in five straight winning seasons under head coach Bryan Haley.
"To be recognized as one of the top 30 teams in the country at this level going into the 2015 season is quite an honor," said Haley, who enters his eighth season at the helm of Endicott baseball. "This year's schedule will give us another opportunity to compete against the best teams in the region and the nation."
Endicott is the sixth New England school listed on the Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll behind #7 Southern Maine, #17 Eastern Connecticut State, #21 Tufts, #23 Amherst, and #26 Wesleyan (Conn.). The Blue and Green have scheduled Southern Maine (home - March 25th, away - April 15th), Eastern Connecticut State (away - March 31st), and Amherst (neutral site doubleheader - March 20th) on their 2015 regular season schedule.
The Gulls have also scheduled Collegiate Baseball's fifth-ranked Cortland State (neutral site doubleheader – March 15th) and #19 Birmingham-Southern (neutral site – March 17th). MIT, Worcester State, Saint Joseph's (Maine), and Wheaton (Mass.) all received votes towards a preseason ranking and will play Endicott this spring.
After a 34-16 (13-3 CCC) season in 2014, Haley's squad earned a spot on Collegiate Baseball's final top-30 poll at #27. Endicott was also ranked #23 on the final D3Baseball.com Top-25 poll and #2 in New England.
