CCC Baseball Tournament Seeding and Schedule; Endicott Named Top Seed

CCC Baseball Tournament Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott's quest for back-to-back and the program's sixth Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship begins on Thursday, May 1st at 4:00 pm as the Gulls host Wentworth in first round action at North Field. The Gulls (26-12, 13-3) earned the top seed in the CCC Tournament and have home-field advantage throughout the double-elimination playoff.

The Leopards (15-16, 7-9) are the #6 seed in the tournament as they lost a tiebreaker situation with #5 Gordon (18-14, 7-9) who held the same conference record. Endicott and Wentworth met in this exact situation last spring with the Leopards using a nine-inning, complete-game from then senior Alex Wong (Lewiston, Maine) to upset the second-seeded Gulls 5-1. Endicott then proceeded to win their next seven games, not only winning their first CCC title since 2006 but also reaching the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship.

During the regular season in 2014, Endicott and Wentworth split a doubleheader in Beverly with sophomore JJ Branch (Milford, Mass.) throwing a complete-game, three-hitter for the 5-0 win in game one before Leopards junior catcher Jake Mailman (Medway, Mass.) recorded two RBI including a solo homerun to help the visitors earn a 2-1 victory.

Roger Williams will be the #2 seed in the tournament after going 22-14 (12-4) this spring while #3 Western New England (16-18-1, 11-5) will host #4 Salve Regina (24-12, 11-5) instead of traveling to them because of a tiebreaker.
