NEWPORT, R.I. - Reigning TCCC Rookie of the Week Michael Russo (Natick, Mass.) drove in a pair of runs and junior Colin McGinn (Tolland, Conn.) tossed seven shutout innings to lead fifth-seeded Endicott College to a 10-0 win over No. 4 seed Salve Regina University in The Commonwealth Coast Conference baseball playoff action on Tuesday afternoon at Reynolds Field.

Senior Alex Judge (Wilton, Conn.) went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Gulls (18-20), who advance to play top-seeded Curry on Wednesday in Milton, Mass. The Seahawks (17-22) - who left 12 runners on base and committed five errors - will play Colby-Sawyer at home on Wednesday. The tournament is double-elimination.

The Gulls grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by junior Andrew Betts (Briston, Conn.). An RBI single by Judge in the third made it 2-0, and junior Aaron Santos (Cambridge, Mass.) stole home on the backend of a double-steal in the fourth to push the lead to 3-0. Senior Brian Andersen (Grafton, Mass.) drove home a run in the fifth to make it 4-0, and a sac fly by Russo in the sixth and another by Santos in the seventh gave Endicott a 6-0 lead. Endicott tacked on four more in the ninth - two of which scored on a dropped fly ball to left field - to close the scoring.

McGinn scattered nine hits and struck out four in 7.1 innings to improve to 6-3 on the season. Sophomore Craig Silva (Marlborough, Mass.) struggled with his control all afternoon for Salve Regina, allowing eight hits and four runs (three earned) while surrendering five walks and striking out three in 4.1 innings.
