Aaron Santos Selected to Intercity League All-Star Team

July 17, 2007

BEVERLY, MA - Since opening the summer season for the Cassell Club of Somerville by going 5-for-5, Endicott sophomore to be, Aaron Santos (Cambridge, MA/Cushing Academy), has not looked back. He has gone on to be the Intercity League's fourth leading hitter with a .443 (27 for 61) and the league's leading run-scorer with 22. He has been a catalyst for the Cassell Club's success as the team currently sits in first place at 18-1-1 at the all star break.

His efforts earned him the starting nod in centerfield in the annual all-star game against Boston's other perennially strong wood bat league: The Park League. The game was played Sunday, July 15 at Babson College. Santos was 1-for-3 with a double in the Intercity League's 8-5 win over their urban rivals.

Both leagues feature the use of wood bats and the play of some of the regions finest players from collegians to former professionals. The Boston Park League was founded in 1929 and the Intercity League has been in operation since 1950.
