BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College baseball team didn't allow a single run in the Gulls CCC doubleheader sweep over Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, MA. Endicott took the first game, 3-0, and then downed the Chargers 2-0 in game two.

Game one featured the Gulls scoring all their runs in the bottom of the third inning as Tom Warner (Contoocook, NH/Hopkinton) got the rally started with a double to centerfield. Endicott's Aaron Santos (Cambridge, MA/Cushing Academy) reached on a Colby-Sawyer defense miscue, scoring Adam Labbe (Litchfield, ME/Oak Hill Regional) for the 1-0 lead. Endicott would add two more runs before the innings end, putting the Blue and Green up 3-0 after three.

The three run lead was all Endicott's Ian Parkinson (Peabody, MA/Peabody) would need, as the reigning CCC Co-Pitcher of the Week tossed seven innings of shutout baseball for the win. Parkinson surrendered only four hits while walking two and striking out nine in the complete game winning effort.

Game two was yet another low scoring affair, as neither team posted a run until the fifth inning. As in game one, when the Gulls scored they scored in bunches, sending two runners across the plate in the bottom of the fifth. Brian Anderson (Grafton, MA/Grafton) reached on a free pass to lead off the inning for the home team. Endicott capitalized on a Colby-Sawyer error, advancing Anderson to scoring position with no outs. Adam Labbe drove in the game-winning RBI single to centerfield to put the Gulls up 1-0. Two batters later Aaron Santos drove Labbe in for the insurance run to push Endicott to the 2-0 lead.

Endicott's Nick Kelley (Malden, MA/Malden Catholic) threw a strong game for Endicott, allowing four hits and no runs in six innings of work. Freshman Colin McGinn (Tolland, CT/Tolland) notched his first collegiate save as he battled out of a tough second and third two out situation to push the Gulls to the game two victory.

Endicott is now 8-6 overall and 4-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls will step out of CCC play on Tuesday as the Blue and Green travel to Gorham, ME to play perennial power USM at 3:30 PM on April 10th.
