DANVILLE, VA - The Endicott College baseball team completed their season opening spring break road trip by taking the second game of a double-header against Lawrence University on Friday afternoon in Danville, VA. With the split, the Gulls will return home with a 3-4 record.
Endicott's Aaron Santos (Cambridge, MA/Cushing Academy) started game one off with a triple and a run scored. The Gulls would take a 3-3 tie into the 6th inning, where Lawrence University ignited for seven two out runs to take the first game, 10-3.
Game two proved to be a defensive duel, as Endicott's Jason Newham (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) tossed a one hitter for the Blue and Green. The senior hurler induced 13 groundball outs in the victory. The Gulls Gavin Softic (Athol, MA/Athol/Cushing Academy) notched the game winning RBI as he singled to left field scoring Steve Vidmosko (Shelton, CT/Fairfield Prep) in the bottom of the 6th.
Endicott returns to action on Tuesday, March 27th when they travel to Bridgewater, Massachusetts to take on Bridgewater State College. Game time is slated for 3:00 PM.
