GREENSBORO, NC - Greensboro College recorded 20 hits for the second straight game as the Pride defeated Endicott College, 11-2, on Thursday evening at War Memorial Stadium in Greensboro, NC.

Endicott opened the scoring in the first inning as Aaron Santos (Cambridge, MA/Cushing Academy) led the game off with a hard double into center field. The freshman outfielder would come around to score just two batters later when Ryan Scanlon (Lowell, MA/Lowell) singled down the left field line, putting Endicott up 1-0. Greensboro managed to escape the first inning only down one following one of their game-high five double plays.

The Pride struck back in the bottom of the first as Taylor Kennedy (Siler City, NC/Jordan Mathews) was one of three consecutive batters to reach as he singled up the middle for Greensboro. Following a base on balls, Jess Maloney (Clemmons, NC/West Forsyth) loaded the bases with a single into left field. Daniel Poindexter (Clemmons, NC/West Forsyth) drove in the game-tying run with a sacrifice fly to second, scoring Kennedy on the play.

James Hone (Sunrise, FL/Chaminade-Madonna) singled through the right side of the infield to start the second inning for the Pride. Junior Kyle Bolik (Pleasant Garden, NC/Southeast Guilford) smashed a two-out triple that touched the center field wall to clear the bases to put Greensboro back on top. With runners on the corners, Pat Burgess (Sunnyvale, CA/Freemont) singled into right center, scoring Bolick from third for the two-run lead. The Pride scored the final run of the frame after Poindexter was plunked by a pitch.

Leading 4-1 entering the third inning of action, Hone again led off the inning with a hit, this time with a double into left center field. Three batters later, with runners at first and third, Kennedy singled to right field scoring Hone. Burgess followed with a bloop single into center to score Bolick for the five-run advantage.

Endicott halted a three inning scoreless streak in the fifth, when Brian Andersen (Grafton, MA/Grafton) led off with a single through the left side of the infield. Three batters later, with two runners on base, Dan Gomez (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) hit past two diving GC fielders through the left side, scoring Andersen for the Gulls second run.

GC reassumed the six run lead after a solo home run to left field by Pat Burgess gave the Pride its fourth extra base hit of the game, and an 8-2 lead.

The Pride added three runs on five hits, including a leadoff double down the left field line by Maloney. Poindexter put runners on the corners for GC, with Maloney scoring on a single to right field by Anthony Corona (Garner, NC/Roxbury). Hone gathered his fourth hit with an RBI single to second, scoring Poindexter on the play. Jeff Gregory (Burke, VA/Robinson) brought home the final run of the seventh on a single to left field, plating Corona for the 11-2 advantage.

James Hone went 4-for-5 with an RBI and a double while Pat Burgess went 4-for-5 with a homerun and three RBI in the Greensboro victory. Starting pitcher Greg Allen (Charlotte, NC/North Meck) completed five innings of work, allowing two earned runs on nine hits while striking out two in the win.
