Bishop, Parkinson Named Player and Pitcher of the Week

BEVERLY, MA - Endicott senior pitcher/DH Matt Bishop (Woburn, MA/Woburn) and junior pitcher Ian Parkinson (Peabody, MA/Peabody) were named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Bishop was dominant and the plate and on the mound as well as at the plate, hitting .500 with two doubles, a triple, a homer, one stolen base, eight runs scored, and five runs batted in. He also was the winning pitcher in a 13-4 win over Roger Williams. Bishop went 3-for-3 at the plate in that game, hitting a pair of doubles and a triple.

Parkinson appeared in two games for the Gulls, who are in first place in the CCC with a 7-1 conference record (9-11 overall), going 1-0 on the mound. He allowed just one earned run on four hits and nine strikeouts. Parkinson earned the win against Roger Williams, giving up a pair of hits with seven K's in a 1-0 victory.

Bishop is leading the conference in home runs (5) and slugging percentage (.741) while ranking third in triples (2) and walks (16).

Parkinson owns a 3-1 overall record (4th in conference) with 29 strikeouts (5th) and two shutouts (1st).
