Turner Earns Pitcher of the Week Honors

April 14, 2005

Beverly, MA-- Endicott senior Jamie Turner (Woburn, MA) earned Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week Honors as announced by the conference on Monday. Turner was 2-0 on the week with a .79 earned run average.

The Gulls' pitcher has helped the team to a 15-7 record to date. In wins over conference foes Curry and Wentworth, Turner allowed nine hits and struck out 13 batters.

Turner was 6-0 with a 1.96 ERA last season. "It's great to see him pick up where he left off last year," said Head Coach Larry Hiser. "The strength of the team is in its pitching staff and Jamie is clearly one of our best pitchers."

The former Woburn High School MVP and two-time Middlesex League All-Star once threw a 91mph pitch for a scout. Turner, who is majoring in psychology and criminal justice, will graduate in May from Endicott College.

Due to poor weather and field conditions earlier in the season, the Gulls will be playing non-stop over the next couple weeks. They travel to Bridgewater State College this afternoon for a 3:00 start.
