BEVERLY, Mass. – On Saturday, October 3, Endicott alums Kevin Lally ’06 and Meghan Sargent Plath ’09 were officially inducted into the Endicott Athletics Hall of Fame in front of a capacity crowd inside MacDonald Gymnasium.
KEVIN LALLY ’06
Lally was a four-year member of the Endicott men’s lacrosse program from 2003-06. Lally, who graduated in the spring of 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Endicott, currently works as a regional manager for Oracle and resides in Chester, N.H.
A four year All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) honoree, Lally was named CCC Rookie of the Year in 2003 and then went on to earn CCC Offensive Player of the Year awards in 2005 and 2006. Lally also earned USILA All-American Honorable Mention accolades in 2006 to cap his senior season.
Lally, who served as a captain during his senior year, still holds a myriad of Endicott records and still is near the top of the NCAA record books as well. For Endicott men’s lacrosse’s all-time records, Lally still ranks first in points (353), assists (271) and assists per game (3.76), in addition to holding the single-season record for points (99), assists (77 in 2006), and assists per game (4.56 in 2005).
The Derry, N.H. native currently holds numerous positions in the NCAA DIII men’s lacrosse record books for career assists (2nd), assists per game (2nd) points (5th) and points per game (22nd), while also holding spots in the single-season record books for assists (4th , 8th and 19th), assists per game (10th), and points (11th and 12th). Lally earned NCAA Statistical Champion awards in 2003 (Assists), 2005 (Assists & Assists per Game), and 2006 (Assists, Assists Per Game & Points).
The Gulls were equally as successful as a team during his tenure, winning three consecutive CCC titles from 2004-06. With the CCC titles came three NCAA DIII Tournament appearances, including the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament win, which was an 11-10 decision over Keene State. During the 2003-06 stretch, Endicott posted an overall record of 54-22 (.711) and a perfect conference record of 32-0 as 32 student-athletes earned All-CCC honors, 14 All-Region honors and two All-American distinctions.
MEGHAN SARGENT PLATH ’09
Meghan Sargent Plath was a four-year member of the Endicott softball program from 2006-09 and graduated in the spring of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She currently works as an operating room R.N. at Monmouth Medical in Long Branch, N.J. and lives in Belford, N.J. with her husband and two daughters.
A four-year First Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) honoree, Sargent was named CCC Rookie of the Year in 2006 and then went on to earn CCC Player of the Year awards in 2007 and 2008, while also being named to the ECAC and NFCA Division III All-Region teams from 2006-08.
Sargent, who was a captain during her senior year, still holds a plethora of Endicott records. For Endicott softball’s all-time career records, Sargent still ranks first in slugging percentage (.660), games played (186), games started (185), at bats (532), hits (189), doubles (44), home runs (38), runs batted in (172), and total bases (351). The Triton, Mass. native also holds single season records for games played (51 in 2006), games started (50 in 2006), and home runs (15 in 2006), while ranking second in runs batted in (50 in 2007), total bases (105 in 2006), and doubles (15 in 2007). Sargent ended her playing career with a .355 batting average and hit a career-high .400 during her sophomore season in 2007.
During her tenure, the Gulls were equally as successful, winning CCC titles during all four of her years as the program was in the midst of a nine year streak as conference champions. With the CCC titles came four NCAA DIII Tournament appearances including the program’s first ever trip to the NCAA DIII Regional Finals in 2008, which was also a year in which the Gulls posted program records for wins in a season with their 41-6 record. During the 2006-09 stretch, Endicott posted an overall record of 142-34-1 (.805) and a conference record of 86-6 (.935) as 27 student-athletes earned All-CCC honors including seven major award winners while 20 earned All-Region honors.
