BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce a partnership with Endicott College Television (ECTV). This new partnership between athletics and ECTV will allow students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in live video production, which aligns with the College's academic model of experiential learning.

For every home football game this season, students from the School of Communication and ECTV will be responsible for operating cameras, producing, and providing live audio commentary, among other duties throughout the broadcast.

"Live, multi-camera coverage of sporting events is a necessary component for anyone interested in a career in media production," said Eleanor Pye, Endicott College's Director of the Digital Media Center and ECTV's advisor. "Working in the field, students learn to adapt to the weather, the environment, the participants, their own team members, and the public; all while contributing to an entertaining and professional-quality live broadcast."

The groundwork for this partnership between athletics and ECTV came to life last year when both groups piloted the program for a broadcast of Endicott football on October 28, 2017. Since then, Pye and the athletics department have worked together to iron out the details for this season.

"This is a win-win for everyone involved," said Endicott Sports Information Director Shawn Medeiros. "I'm pleased to see that our department can continue to provide additional learning opportunities for our students. We have had tremendous success with student broadcasters over the years - the list of which includes Zach Weiss, Matt Pritchard, and Nick Weinstein to name a few - and I expect the same to continue with our enhanced partnership with ECTV. This partnership would not be possible without the direction of Ellie Pye and Rob Palardy, our former Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications."

All games will be broadcast on ECTV, along with Endicott's new webcast platform Stretch Internet and Facebook LIVE.
