COMMUNITY SERVICE: Endicott Athletics Volunteers At Pete Frates 5K Run

BEVERLY, Mass. – Members of the Endicott baseball, softball, and women's tennis teams recently volunteered at the Pete Frates 5K Run over the weekend to show support, and also raise funds for Pete's Park, which is named in honor of Pete and located in Thoreau Circle. Formerly named Longfellow Park, Pete's Park is a lasting playground worthy of Pete's namesake that can be enjoyed and accessed by people of all abilities.

Several members from all three programs were in attendance, and competed in the race, while staff members from Residence Life and the Career Center and Internship Office also joined in on the festivities last Sunday.

"Community service is something that we as a department and our coaches have really emphasized as a core component of our culture here in athletics," said Endicott Director of Athletics Brian Wylie. "Over the last seven or so years when you see that student-athletes perform more than 5,000 community service hours each academic year, and it continues to increase, it further demonstrates how altruistic our Community really is."

COMMUNITY SERVICE AT ENDICOTT

Endicott's Community Service Program offers a wealth of opportunities for students to volunteer their time and talents to help those in need. The mission of the Community Service office is to provide resources and raise awareness for both Endicott and the surrounding communities. This goal is backed by the belief that in helping others you are helping yourself. For more information on organizations within the Endicott Community click here: Organizations With The Community
