ENDICOTT ATHLETICS TOP 10 BEST MOMENTS OF 2016-17 VIDEO
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott Department of Athletics & Recreation held its annual student-athlete recognition ceremony last night (5/8/17) inside the Samuel C. Wax Center Auditorium. Highlighting the evening was the announcement of the department's four major award winners.
Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) was named the Female Athlete of the Year, while Chris Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) received Male Athlete of the Year honors. Alongside the Male and Female Athlete of the Year winners, Lindsee Allienello (East Providence, R.I.) and Chelsea Burke (Georgetown, Mass.) were tabbed as Co-Female Student-Athletes of the Year, and Craig Anderson (Franklin, Mass.) and Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) were selected as Co-Male Student-Athletes of the Year.
In addition to the four major awards that were given out on Monday night, Director of Athletics Brian Wylie and the rest of the Endicott College Department of Athletics & Recreation staff handed out several other awards including: Coaches' Awards, Athletic Training Student of the Year, Strength and Conditioning Iron Beak Award, the David H. Cammett Award, the Northwestern Mutual Community Service Award, and the Outstanding Club Athlete Awards.
Winners for the Coaches' Awards were Mike Kochiss (baseball), Emily Dellisola (cheerleading), Kelsey O'Keefe (dance), Lillian Dugan (equestrian), Olivia Larson (field hockey), Chris Lipscomb (football), Drew Benshoff (men's golf), Max Motroni (men's basketball), Catie Lipscomb (women's basketball), Jesse Gottesdiener (men's crew), Claire McKinnon (women's crew), Adam Germaine (men's cross country), Kelly O'Neill (women's cross country), Josh Bowes (men's ice hockey), Ellen Carter (women's ice hockey), Tommy Hughes (men's lacrosse), Cassidy Merrill (women's lacrosse), Conor O'Neil (men's rugby), Shelby Stevenson (women's rugby), Nick Weinstein (men's soccer), Nicole Taylor (women's soccer), Sean McAndrews (men's tennis), Lauren Rahr (women's tennis), Devin Racey (men's volleyball), Tori McIntyre (women's volleyball), Corey Eisenband (roller hockey), and Julia McNeill (softball).
Winners of the remaining awards included Sierra Shemanskis (Athletic Training), Meghan Lennon and Erika Trudon (Strength & Conditioning Iron Break), Dr. Bram Lutton (David H. Cammett Award), Kristin Hartlage (Northwestern Mutual Community Service Award), Nick Iavicoli and Shelby Stevenson (Outstanding Male & Female Club Athletes).
TORI MCINTYRE | SENIOR | WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL | SAN DIEGO, CALIF. | FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
McIntyre, a senior outside on the volleyball team, helped to lead the team to its first CCC Title and NCAA DIII Tournament appearance since 2008. McIntyre was named CCC Player of the Year in 2016 for the second consecutive season, while also being named 2016 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention and AVCA First Team All-Region. The San Diego, Calif. native became the first ever player in program history to eclipse the 1,300 kills and digs in a career to finish second all-time in career kills and eighth all-time in digs.
CHRIS LIPSCOMB | SENIOR | FOOTBALL/MEN'S BASKETBALL | WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASS. | MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Lipscomb, a senior, was a starter on both the basketball and football teams. In football, Lipscomb was named Offensive MVP and All-Conference as a wide receiver. He led the team in receptions, yards and receiving touchdowns while also being named to the NEFC All-Academic Team for the last three years. On the basketball court, the West Springfield, Mass. native was instrumental in the team's historic Sweet 16 run as one of the top defenders in the CCC, while he started all 31 games this season, setting a new career-high.
CRAIG ANDERSON | SENIOR | FOOTBALL | FRANKLIN, MASS. | CO-MALE STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Anderson is a senior defensive lineman on the football team with a 3.89 GPA as a Criminal Justice major. A four year starter, Anderson was a captain in 2015 & 2016. The Franklin, Mass. native was named to the NEFC Academic All-Conference team in each of the last three seasons, while earning the Jack Daly Award for Academics, Citizenship and Football. Anderson also became Endicott's first ever two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American as he earned three CoSIDA Academic All-District nods.
NICK WEINSTEIN | SENIOR | MEN'S SOCCER | TRUMBULL, CONN. | CO-MALE STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Weinstein is a senior goalkeeper on the soccer team with a 3.50 GPA as a Communications, Broadcast Journalism major. A captain in 2016, Weinstein has earned Endicott Dean's List honors in all three semesters he has been at Endicott and was named CCC Academic All-Conference in each of the last two years. The Trumbull, Conn. native has served as an ambassador and leader for Team IMPACT with Jack Garis and as a play-by-play commentator for Endicott Athletics live broadcasts.
LINDSEE ALLIENELLO | SENIOR | SOFTBALL | EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. | CO-FEMALE STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Allienello is a senior third base/catcher on the softball team with a 3.76 GPA as a Sport Management major. A member and presenter of the EC Lead program and S.A.A.C., Allienello has earned Dean's List honors three times and Academic All-Conference honors twice. The East Providence, R.I. native has also been named to the Endicott Academic Varsity Club twice while serving as a New Student Mentor, as a part of Endicott's Shipmates and on the Accountability Board. Allienello has volunteered with the Walk for Homelessness, with bagging snacks for Project Hunger and with the Toys for Tots Drive.
CHELSEA BURKE | SENIOR | WOMEN'S LACROSSE | GEORGETOWN, MASS. | CO-FEMALE STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Burke is a senior defender for the lacrosse team with a 3.76 GPA as a Finance major. As the 2016 CCC Defensive Player of the Year and IWLCA DIII All-Pilgrim Region Second Team, Burke has earned Dean's List honors, CCC Academic All-Conference honors twice, and has been named to the Endicott Academic Varsity Club twice while also being named to the 2016 IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. The Georgetown, Mass. native has served as a mentor with the You're With Us program while also volunteering with the Special Olympics.
