35 Student-Athletes Earn Winter/Spring CCC All-Academic Honors

CCC Academic All-Conference Winter/Spring 2014-15 Release 

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced the 2014-15 Winter & Spring 2014-15 Academic All-Conference team on Thursday and Endicott was well represented with 35 student-athletes earning the distinction.  The sports that were included over this time were men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s golf, men’s & women’s lacrosse, softball and men’s tennis.  To be honored, a student must best of sophomore standing or higher and have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher).  For the year, Endicott student-athletes have now earned 121 academic all-conference honors from their respective conferences.

The highest team GPA of the winter and spring went to the softball team who boasted a 3.34 while women’s basketball was close behind with a 3.28.  For the men, the men’s tennis team led the semester with a 3.15 cumulative team GPA, just edging out golf and baseball, who ended the semester with 3.15 and 3.14 team GPA’s respectively.

Leading the way in the winter/spring seasons were baseball and softball, as each program saw seven members earn the distinction.  Those teams were followed by women’s lacrosse (6), women’s basketball (5), men’s basketball (4), men’s tennis (3), men’s lacrosse (2) and men’s golf (1).

The average GPA of the 35 winter/spring Academic All-CCC members was an impressive 3.53.  Of those 35 honorees, 12 were also recognized for their athletics prowess on the field, earning athletic All-Conference honors as well, including CCC Pitcher of the Year Nick Quattro (Canton, Mass.).
