Endicott Bolsters Athletic Training Staff with Two Hires

BEVERLY, Mass. - Following a national search, Endicott College has announced the hiring of Jenn Ladd and Jon Williams as full-time Athletic Trainers.  The hires give the Athletic Training department four full-time athletic trainers as Ladd and Williams join co-Associate Head Athletic Trainers Abbey Wirtz and James Daley to complete the staff.  

Co-Associate Head Athletic Trainer Abbey Wirtz stated, "We believe Jenn and Jon are both going to be a geat fit at Endicott. They are extremely passionate about our profession, providing exceptional care for student-athletes and teaching and leading the undergrad A.T. students. Jenn and Jon each have different professional experiences and new perspectives and we are excited to get the new year started."

Ladd, a Methuen, Mass. native, comes to Endicott having completed her Master of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst after having graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Westfield State in 2012.  While at UMass Amherst, Ladd most recently served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Smith College where she helped cover 13 varsity and 13 club sports.  Over the same period, she also served as a seasonal athletic trainer for Amherst College covering a variety of sports.  Ladd has also worked with the Special Olympics, the Boston Marathon, Boston College football camp, Boston College girls’ volleyball camp, the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association and the John Smith Soccer Academy over the past four years.  

While at Westfield State, Ladd was a member of the Movement Science Club, the Lambda Sigma Honors Society, the EATA Student Delegation Committee and the Athletic Training Club of which she also served as Vice President during her senior year.  As a graduate student at UMass Amherst, Ladd was a member of the Kinesiology Graduate Club and this past semester, served as the Secretary of Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts (ATOM), a position that she still currently holds.  Her professional affiliations consist of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Jon Williams, a Peabody, Mass. native, comes to Endicott from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell where he has served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the past two years.  While at UMass Lowell, Williams covered the men’s soccer team and the baseball team.  Prior to his stint at Lowell, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Mississippi from which he earned his Masters of Science in Exercise Science in 2012.  While at Mississippi, Williams worked closely with the men’s tennis program and with both the men’s and women’s golf teams.  Prior to Mississippi, he attended Quinnipiac University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine.

Williams has also worked with the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs of the Future Collegiate Baseball Leage, the Altitude College Hockey Prospect Camp, the Coll-Edge Field Hockey Camp and UMass Lowell Sports Camps.  He is a member of the National Athletic Training Association, and he is a Massachusetts Licensed Athletic Trainer, a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and has received his American Heart Association: Basic Life Support, CPR, AED certification.

Both Ladd and Williams will begin in official capacity on August 1st.
