Taylor Geas, a senior from Somers, Conn., has been chosen for the focus of this installment of the “Endicott Student-Athlete Spotlight” for her works both on the field of competition, and even more important, off of it. Taylor is a Psychology major on the Endicott women's soccer team.
Why did you choose to be a Division III
student-athlete?
I couldn't picture my life without playing soccer and
being a part of a team...and the gear...
What do you like most about being a student-athlete at
Endicott?
The best thing about being a student-athlete at Endicott
is the relationships you have the opportunity to form because you
are a part of a team. It's the best feeling to be walking around
campus and have anybody from a peer to a professor ask you, "how
did the game go?!"
What are some of the greatest lessons you have learned
from being a student-athlete?
These four years fly by, make the most of each game and
practice, and don't sweat the small stuff.
Who have been the most influence people in your athletic
career?
Muhammad Ali
How would your teammates describe you?
"So witty" - Clare Mansfield
Do you have any pre-game/pre-event rituals? If so, what
are they?
I have to have my nails painted.
What is your greatest sports moment?
When I was seven I played on a little league team where I
was the only girl and I hit a game winning home run over the fence.
That's right up there with winning the 2013 CCC Championship. It
was the first time I've ever won a championship.
Which public figure (athlete, politician, entertainer,
etc) would you most like to meet and what one question would you
ask them?
Andrew Holfinger....wanna' date?
What internships have you completed (or are a part of
now)? What benefit have you gotten out of them?
I completed my semester long internship over the summer at
Dana Farber in The Jimmy Fund Clinic. It was the most rewarding
experience I have ever had. I met so many amazing children and
families.
If you have been involved in community service projects,
what project has been the most rewarding and why?
Every year, our team participates in The Relay For Life.
It's a great cause to support and really makes you thankful for
everything you have.
Name three things on your "bucket list".
There's a place in Thailand where you can sleep with
lions, I would definitely do that. I want to float in the dead sea
and give an elephant a bath.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years after graduation?
What is your dream job?
I'll be living in Hawaii and I will be running my sandwich
shop.
What would you say to someone currently in high school
who is considering attending Endicott?
Hey good choice! Every day's a great day to be a Gull!
Is there something about you that we don't know? Tell is
something special about yourself that we haven't asked!
I'm from Charlestown, Massachusetts.
